En-route to Japan ✈️

(I actually wrote this post on the plane here, but am only posting it now lol)

I am currently writing this in the notes section of my phone; the wi-fi is terribly slow and limited here, but hey, I’m just surprised there was even the option! Right now, I’m on the second leg of my journey, flying from Dubai to Kansai International Airport. My previous flight was surprisingly pleasant: there was little noise (aside from a whiny child in the last 20 mins of the flight), little to no turbulence and, best of all, I had a row completely to myself! I could actually stretch out my giraffe legs.

Sadly, I’m not so lucky on this one. Everything about this plane seems more cramped than the last one, and I no longer have a row to myself. 😦 But the mother/daughter I’m sitting next to seem really nice, despite a language barrier, so it’s not too bad. Plus, I am sitting by the window, so I’ll be the one annoying them whenever I get up to go to the toilet. But I’ll try not to do that!

Language nerves are already setting in, the Japanese flight attendants are all speaking to me in Japanese! It’s what I get for being East Asian haha. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, but also it’s a good opportunity for me to flex my speaking skills, so I hope I won’t screw up too much. You can’t go too wrong when you’re being asked which 飲み物 or 食事 you want and responding to a friendly ありがとうございます!

Speaking of which, here are a few pictures of my in-flight meals and flight in general:

My meal on the flight from Manchester to Dubai: braised beef with horseradish, with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables.
Sorry for the bad quality! Lighting was bad and the passenger in front had his seat tilted back. 😑 My dinner on the second flight! Grilled chicken in a tomato sauce with green beans and mashed potatoes. I was stupid and didn’t realise that the packet of つゆ sauce was for the cold noodle starter, and ate them plain. 😓 It didn’t taste that good!
I thought the lights on the ceiling of the plane were really pretty! Are they on every long haul flight?
Breakfast is served! Teriyaki salmon with veggies and rice. I was looking forward to the fresh fruit side but they were kinda dried out. But there’s not much you can do when you’re so high up in the air, I suppose!
Obligatory airplane window pic!

I think I’ve rambled on enough about my flight. Next time I post I’ll be in Japan, how exciting! See you then ~
